The term Red Teaming is used to describe a form of Penetration Testing that mimics real-world threats to evaluate how an organisation’s employees and technology respond to an attack.

During a red team assessment, IT or security teams remain unaware of the planned attempts to gain access. A Red Team exercise tests the defenders’ (the ‘blue team’) ability to detect and respond to the attack.
